III CONCURSO MORFOLÓGICO AGROPEC (GIJÓN)

III CONCURSO DE GIJÓN 2012

El próximo día 29 de Septiembre se llevara a cabo el III Concurso Morfológico de la raza Suffolk, en el que contaremos como Juez, el Sñr. Yves Bran (Bélgica), como siempre esperamos aya un bonito certamen de esta maravillosa raza.

Próxima mente esperamos con ansia los primeros nacimientos de la témpora 2013.

Nuestras ovejas si tova bien empezaran a parir a finales de setiembre, ya tenemos ganas de ver los corderos por el prado jugando.

Es  te año contamos con varias incorporaciones nuevas como pude ser 3 hijas del famoso corderos  Astron  que son corderas de primer parto,

Al mismo tiempo esperamos ver los primeros hijos de uno de nuestros corderos (Nevado de Villaperez Suffolk) hijo al mismo tiempo de Astron

Al mismo tiempo contamos en  nuestro semental Directeur  hijo del famoso cordero Castlwllan Espormas.

Es un claro ejemplo de que la crianza es determinante a la hora de tener un animal ganador. No cabe duda de que la base genética es imprescindible, pero cualquiera que haya visto este animal en el concurso creo que me entenderá si digo que "estaba en su punto".

MEJOR ANIMAL Y GANADOR DEL CONCURSO:
- NORA DEL ENTREGO. Un excelente animal, que va camino de conseguir algo tan difícil, como ser primera en cada una de las categorías por las que va pasando. Perfecta desde todos los puntos de vista, cuenta con unos cuartos traseros inmejorables que le dan el plus necesario para ganar.

Enhorabuena a la organización y a todos los participantes y sobre todo a FRAN del Entrego Suffolk .

NUEVAS INCORPORACIONES

Paredes Suffolk Canero este año a incorporado  varis egemplares de una gran calidad como vien se pude comprovar en cartas de genalogicas.

      * El segundo no podriase que Nevado Villaperez Suffolk hijo del tan famo cordero Armastrong Ter Linden y Lecce de Mont que a dia de hoy esta dando varis previos a la ganaderia de Villaperez suffolk.
         

      Al mismo tiempo  incorporamos  6 feminas de reposicion para el 2012 de las cuales se cuentran 3 hijas de ARMSTRONG TER LINDEN ,  1 hija de VAN DE LAEREBERG y dos animales de importados.

 Es peramos con esta selecin dar un gran salto .


  

Un poco de historia de la raza.

 Suffolk sheep, a relatively large breed, developed in England, well The Suffolk Sheep has many desirable qualities and is becoming widely accepted there. Suffolks have bare heads, black faces, and bare black legs but no horns. They breed aggressively and have upstanding carriage, an active nature, the capacity for rapid growth, and a good mutton build; they are, however, relatively light fleece producers. The original Suffolks were the result of crossing Southdown rams on Norfolk Horned ewes.Apparently the product of this cross was a great improvement over either one of the parents.Although the Suffolk was a recognized breed as early as 1810, the flock book was not closed until much later.In 1930, Southdowns were described as large sheep without horns, dark faces and legs, fine bones and long small necks.They were low set in front with high shoulders and light forequarters; however, their sides were good, rather broad in the loin, and were full in the thigh and twist.Today's Suffolk Sheep derives its meatiness and quality of wool from the old original British Southdown.The Norfolk Horned sheep, now rare, were a wild and hardy breed.They were blackfaced, light, fleeced sheep.Both sexes were horned.The upland regions of Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridge on the southeastern coast of England are very rugged and forage is sparse.It was this dry, cold and windy area in which the Norfolk breed adapted itself to travelling great distances for food, thereby developing a superbly muscular body.It was said at that time of the Norfolk Horned, "their limbs are long and muscular, their bodies are long and their general form betokens activity and strength."This breed and its crosses were valued highly both by farmers and butchers.However, shepherds of that day did not like the long legs, flat sides, nor wild nature of the Norfolk Horned.They noted that Southdowns crossed with Norfolk produced a progeny that reduced most of the criticisms of both breeds.In 1886, the English Suffolk Sheep Society was organized to provide registry service and to further develop the use of the breed.Through selection and careful breeding by many great English shepherds, the Suffolk Sheep brought to this country retained the qualities for which they were originally mated.
